MYRTLE BEACH, OK – A 11-year-old boy lost his life in a jet ski accident on the Intracoastal Waterway near Mr. Joe White Ave on July 17.

According to WBTW, the boy was operating the jet ski with his father, Raymond Jay Hillman, 50, as a passenger. At around 7 p.m., the boy slammed into a tree, causing both occupants to eject from the vehicle and into the water.

First responders transported Hillman to an area hospital in critical condition. It is unclear if the juvenile died at the scene of the accident or a local hospital.

The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources arrested Hillman on August 24 and charged him with personal watercraft and boating safety violations, as well as unlawful conduct towards a child. His BAC was 0.94 at the time of the collision.
