RAVENEL, SC – According to WCSC, a person lost their life when an Amtrak train hit an SUV near SC 165 and Martin St Wednesday.
The train was heading to Savannah from New York when it struck a Buick SUV that had entered the railroad crossing around 8:20 p.m. The collision ejected the SUV driver from the vehicle.
Noone onboard the train was hurt in the incident.
The crash is under investigation by the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office.
