RICHLAND COUNTY, SC – A Richland County deputy died in a two-vehicle collision on Bluff Rd near Windy Dr on Friday, according to WLTX.

Deputy Jacob Eric Salrin, 23, was driving a 2017 Ford sedan west on Bluff Rd when he collided with an eastbound 2014 Volvo semi-truck with no trailer making a left turn onto Windy Drive from Bluff Rd around 8 p.m.

Deputy Salrin died in the wreck. Rescue crews transported the truck driver to an area hospital.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
