NORTH CHARLESTON, SC – A woman has been charged with a fatal train crash on Remount Rd near Dutton Ave on October 30, 2021.

According to WCIV, Aszeria Vanderhorst, 24, drove around the lowered crossing arm at an Amtrak train track and was struck on the passenger side of her vehicle by the train.

The collision ejected Vanderhorst’s three passengers, Tasia Newton, 22, Danielle Branton, 29, and Reshana Lambright, 32, from the vehicle.

First responders pronounced the three passengers dead at the scene of the accident and transported Vanderhorst to an area hospital.

Authorities booked Vanderhorst on three counts of Reckless Homicide on Wednesday.
