COLUMBIA, SC – A wrong-way driver fatally struck another vehicle on I-77, around five miles south of Blythewood, Monday, according to WLTX.

A Toyota driver was heading south on I-77 when they stayed into the northbound lanes and collided head-on with a Honda SUV around 4:30 p.m.

Rescue crews pronounced the Toyota driver dead at the scene of the accident. The Honda driver did not suffer any injuries in the collision.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
