ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC – According to WACH, a driver struck and killed one pedestrian and injured another at US 301 and Hollis Rd on Thursday.

A person was driving a 2012 Toyota Corolla South on Hollis Rd when they hit two pedestrians trying to cross US 301 around 4:30 a.m.

Rescue crews pronounced one of the pedestrians dead at the scene and transported the other to an area hospital.

Officials have not released the victims’ names.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
