ST ANDREWS, SC – A driver rammed into a patrol vehicle and injured a Richland County deputy near Broad River Rd and Seminole Rd on Saturday, according to WIS.

Renee Perry was driving a white Chrysler when she ran a red light. Deputies tried to pull Perry over, but she refused and a pursuit began.

During the chase, Perry collided with another driver, but that driver was not hurt.

Perry then collided with a patrol vehicle driven by Master Deputy E. Velez-Cruz. She rammed into it again, causing it to be engulfed in flames.

Rescue crews transported Perry and Master Deputy E. Velez-Cruz to an area hospital, where they were treated and released. Authorities then transported Perry to a detention center.
