FLORENCE, SC – The driver charged with causing a deadly crash on Beltline Dr near West Florence High School on Dec. 29, 2023, died from their injuries on Sunday, according to WPDE.

Franklin White Jr. was allegedly driving a truck under the influence of narcotics when he collided with a vehicle at a red light while entering a Walmart. White fled the scene of that accident when he crashed into a Dodge SUV driven by Barbara L. Frazier, 68. The collision caused White’s truck to roll over.

Rescue crews pronounced Frazier dead at the scene and transported White to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Authorities charged White with hit-and-run with minor personal injury for the first wreck and felony DUI resulting in death for the second collision.

Officials say that White’s death appears to be from the injuries he sustained in the crash.
