MURRELLS INLET, SC – According to WMBF, a driver struck and killed a pedestrian at 3055 US Highway 17 Business on Sunday.

Authorities said the pedestrian, a 15-year-old boy, was walking at around 5:30 a.m. when he was hit by a driver in a 2013 Ford Expedition.

Rescue crews pronounced the teenager dead at the scene. The driver was not hurt in the crash.

The incident is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
