BLACKSBURG, SC – A semi-truck driver killed a man at the Love’s Travel Center at 116 Priester Rd on Wednesday, according to FOX Carolina.
John Victor Vanslytman, 29, was standing on a step ladder while working under the hood of his vehicle when a semi-truck driver hit him while making a turn. Vanslytman became pinned between his vehicle and the semi-truck.
Rescue crews performed life-saving measures on Vanslytman before pronouncing him dead at the scene.
The Cherokee County Coroner’s Office will perform an autopsy at a later date.
