CHARLESTON, SC – According to WCSC, an officer driving a police cruiser struck and injured a pedestrian at US 17 and President St Monday.

The officer was driving a 2018 Ford sedan when he hit the victim around 5:01 a.m.

Rescue crews transported the victim to an area hospital with serious injuries.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
