SUMTER, SC – One person was hurt in a traffic accident involving a Sumter Police Department officer on Hwy 378 near the Department of Motor Vehicles Wednesday, according to WLTX.
Emergency crews were called to the scene of the accident around 8 p.m. They transported one person to an area hospital via helicopter.
Officials have not released the name of the victim.
