COLUMBIA, SC – A train fatally struck a driver on Koon Rd near Ames Rd Thursday, according to WLTX.
Jeremy Williams, 32, was heading west on Koon Rd when he came across a railroad crossing with the crossing gate down. Williams attempted to drive around the crossing gate when the train struck his vehicle on the driver’s side at around 6 a.m.
First responders transported Williams to an area hospital, where he later died.
The incident is under investigation by the authorities.
